PhazeTek Corporation is a privately held nanotechnology company founded in 2007. PhazeTek is currently incubated under the North Carolina NanoAccelerator (NCNA) which was founded by QuarTek Corporation. NCNA is an innovative technology development and accelaration center located in the Piedmont Center that hosts and provides resources to numerous nanotechnology-based companies, it is conveniently located within a short drive from Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem, and the Piedmont Triad International Airport. The location allows PhazeTek to benefit from the proximity of prestigious universities, advanced nanotechnology centers, and major high-tech companies.

PhazeTek is focused on research that leads to the development of novel phase change material (PCM) for primarily use in energy saving, heat management, lubrication and food packaging. Current petroleum based energy saving materials are toxic, flammable and expensive, as well as being based on increasingly scarce, non-renewable resources. PhazeTek products, on the other hand, are green, environmentally safe, non-toxic, inexpensive and have high latent heat and storage capacity.

The immediate focus of PhazeTek is to develop technology that addresses a number of energy saving needs. PhazeTek’s novel technology provides smart materials with high thermal efficiency. These materials can be easily integrated into wallboards, insulations and solar panels. They can be used for solar panel application where temperatures above the boiling point of water are needed which is typical for solar systems. Hydrocarbon based liquids can be used, but they suffer from disposal and environmental issues.

PhazeTek is excited to be on the brink of commercialization of this new class of thermal transfer and storage materials. PhazeTek believes PCMs will have broad applications in energy savings, heat management in building products, textiles, packaging, manufacturing and medical fields.

PhazeTek’s corporate mission is to develop innovative energy saving technologies that contribute to the welfare of society, consumer health & safety, energy savings, global competitiveness, and ecological protection while creating rewarding jobs.
